Dina Denis Dance offers Dance Education Programming for all age groups. All of our dance education programming recognizes the National Dance Education Standards and New York City Blueprints for teaching and learning. Creative Movement Workshops Dina Denis Dance offers Creative Movement Workshops for all ages in any institution, school, community, and private organization. Workshops can be planned and conducted according to the population's interests and needs. The creative movement workshops explore movement concepts such as body, time, space, effort, basic choreography skills Laban concepts, and Language of Dance (LOD). Modern Dance Technique Workshops Dina Denis Dance offers Dance Technique Workshops to professional and pre-professional students as well as dance enthusiasts. These workshops incorporate various modern dance techniques and styles. Workshop participants experience a blend of organic movement and contemporary modern dance, which is a signature style of Dina Denis Dance. Lecture Demonstrations Lecture Demonstrations are conducted to provide insight into dance composition, rehearsals, and performance. We offer your choice or a combination of Open & Interactive Rehearsals, Working Together/Partnering Skills, and Improvisation & Choreography. Performances Dina Denis Dance offers live dance performances that include an "artist and audience" discussion. All performances must be book at least six months in advance prior to the requested date. Margaret Denis Memorial Fund Nursing Home and Senior Center Performances Dina Denis Dance / Dance Into Light, Inc. conducts free performances for nursing homes and senior center groups in the New York Tri-state area. The goal of these free performances is to bring dance to a population that does not have access to the arts. Dina Denis Dance offers 45-minute performances that bring dance along with its aesthetic enjoyment to nursing home residences and senior center groups.
